You can calibrate your engine based on the temperature of the exhaust gases. This data is much more valuable than the theoretical candle color. An engine that is too lean tends to heat up very strongly in the exhaust gases, while an engine that is too rich will have very cold gases! This is one of the most precise and quick to move settings for settings!
