The 70cc ATHENA racing is a fabulous nikasyl treated aluminum kit with a diameter of 46mm. The piston is in 1.5mm mono segment and the cap is over-domed over 40mm in diameter in order to be able to keep the original cylinder head with good performance, nothing prevents you from installing it with a POLINI 46mm cylinder head or other, the cylinder head gasket is made of 0.60mm thin hard aluminium.
The admission system / sweeping of the rear transfers is very successful, from the base the rear transfer is separated into 2 distinct parts and this up to the high admission. These large rear transfers allow excellent performance both on Peugeot first generation 2 transfer engines and on Peugeot 103 3 transfer 2nd generation engines. This system is quite special, the two rear transfers are filled more by the rear window of the piston than by the lower engine. This provides excellent sweeping and provides excellent valve operation!
This system corrects the weak point of the Peugeot 103 engine. For older connoisseurs, this kit is identical to the famous EUROCILINDRO. In the end, this cylinder will be suitable for any use, its strong point remains its fairly high intake diagrams, preparers who like high-speed power will only have to touch up the exhaust because the intake does not require a lot of work.
This kit is of excellent quality and is very well based in torque / power ratio, its finish is very good and its price quite low, it can be used in endurance or ultra sports use. With relatively high diagrams for a 70cc, it is very efficient and makes an excellent base for engine preparation.
We recommend it with at least : expansion exhaust, carburation of 15mm phbg minimum required, reinforced bearings and crankshaft, original d.40mm cylinder head usable without problems (a d.46mm racing will still exploit the power much better), cold spark plug, crankcase/cylinder alignment.

As an option we offer you a stage 1 preparation, this preparation is a modification of the channels and the exhaust port by increasing the diagrams and improving the duct, it increases the performance of the cylinder. An improvement of the piston and the lower skirts is also included in this modification. Count a little extra time for this preparation!
