Malossi realized the impossible, unifying the world of scooter racing engines thanks to C-One Yamaha-Minarelli.

Our technicians have designed C-One Yamaha-Minarelli as a platform for completely unifying the technical solutions and the external and interior dimensions with all C-One Malossi models.

Malossi C-One uses on all models the same thermal groups and transmissions for both Piaggio and Yamaha/Minarelli scooters, uniting two worlds since always separated to increase power and enhance the strongest elements of these two.

C-One for Yamaha has been designed to be completely Plug&Play for all scooters equipped with Yamaha/Minarelli 50 cubic centimeters liquid-cooled: indeed, the chassis and interior do not require any modiatio, it can accommodate the entire line of Malossi products intended for the range RC-One, presenting itself as a revolutionary solution for the development of racing components for ALL scooters.

 

TECHNOLOGY

The cylinder crankcase was tilted 10 degrees from the original shaft-gear axis.

This innovative means finally enabled the Malossi technicians to position the engine attachments in front of the power supply circuit, permanently eliminating one of the largest Achilles heels of the Yamaha/Minarelli motor case series. However, a change in the compartment under the saddle is necessary.

The C-One Yamaha-Minarelli housing provides two different stud housings to accommodate the Malossi cylinders with the studs or the Flanged Mount family cylinders with flange fastening and short studs with max. 47.6 Ø.

The advantages of this solution open doors to the possibility of completely new cylinder design. The housing intended to contain the slat valve has been significantly modified thanks to the most modern software for simulation of the dynamics of three-dimensional fluids that enabled the Malossi technicians to find the ideal heights and dimensions.

The automatic mixer and the mechanical water pump were removed to minimize dispersion and the installation was natively predisposed from the Malossi internal rotor ignition and the vacuum petrol pump. In terms of the cycle part, C-One for Yamaha is intended exclusively for scooters equipped with rear disc brake series and does not provide for alternative use of jaws. The centrepiece is increased and with it the stability and precision in the turns, while the dimensions of the gear housing have been reduced considerably, by superimposing the toothed wheels.

The increase of the drive and internal diameters made it necessary to use the start cover for the Piaggio scooters. All C-One housings for Yamaha are provided with the necessary components for installation. In fact, given the considerable technical differences compared to the standard unit, Malossi decided to include in the package also the slat valve, lids and a special wheel axis to use the original rear wheel and make C-One perfectly interchangeable with Yamaha/Minarelli circles and hubs.

Optionally, a special rear mudguard is provided to protect and maintain the carburetor clean, now positioned at the rear. The new housings were designed and produced in Calderara di Reno at the headquarters of Malossi, one of the most advanced research centres, development and production of special parts for motors and scooters.

They were designed and realized for one purpose only: to produce the most innovative racing component for scooter ever existed.
